Creation

[edit]

This page was created to relieve the San Diego page of a bulky and growing list of notable residents. It was designed after the famous New Yorkers page. Soltras 16:28, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WTF how is Rob Halford of Judas Priest a San Diegan?

[edit]

seriously, I see no mention in his wiki or website that he has lived there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.22.44.167 (talkcontribs) May 25 2006 19:55

Good enough reason to remove him until someone can provide a source. I'll take him off. Soltras 22:48, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He has a house in Hillcrest, and lives part of the year there (if not permanently). No citation though, be he frequents the area.98.176.116.217 (talk) 18:49, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding

[edit]

What about adding some of these people? People from San Diego... -ChristopherMannMcKay 06:02, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bands

[edit]

I remove the bands that were added to this article (listed below). This article is to list notable San Diegans, not bands from San Diego. If you would like to list the bands I removed, then list each band memeber indivudally and and under their description indicate which band they are a part of.

Bands I removed:

-POD is not from Chula Vista. The band is composed of 2 members that grew up in San Diego (Bernardo and Sandoval), one member from Chula Vista (Curiel), and one member from Escondido (Daniels)98.176.116.217 (talk) 18:52, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discrepancy in intro

[edit]

The intro asks for notables who spent the majority of their life in SD OR live here now. So if Colin Powell moves to SD he would then be notable. When he moves away a year or two from now, he would then be removed from the list. This seems silly. Most lists allow people who have even lived there to be on the list. Okay, the list could get really long. Right now all you have is entertainers and sports figures. Changing the list would allow military figures who retired here, for example, or who lived here during their career. Has to be politicians that came from here. No historical figures! Why not?Student7 (talk) 12:06, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting list

[edit]

List is becoming too long to able to scrutinize it. Probably ought to be broken up into "politicians/government", athletes, and music/entertainment. Student7 (talk) 13:10, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
